Can Feng Shui be applied in the
garden?
Yes. The five elements
of metal, water, wood, fire, and earth are the natural agents of
Chi, and they symbolize shapes, color, senses, strengths, or weaknesses.
Your garden, whether used as an area to grow fruits, vegetables,
and flowers or as a spot to relax or entertain guests, should reveal
your own style and attitudes. Since your garden is an extension
of you, everything there (i.e., the colors of the blooms, the material
your garden furniture is made of, the sound of the water trickling
in your fountain, etc.) should be well-placed to beautify and enhance
your well-being. Other interesting things to note are that over
time, plants and trees build active relationships with their environment,
and they possess their own Yin and Yang. Keeping all this in mind,
you can create a garden that not only enhances your own Chi (energy)
but also creates harmony for any guests who share your garden. Assessing
a garden requires the same Feng Shui tools that are used for home
and office assessments.
